About the project
We are running the Erasmus+ KA152-YOU project “Courage to Lead” as an international youth exchange in cooperation with partners from the Czech Republic, Italy, and Romania. The main goal is to develop young people’s leadership, digital, and project competences and strengthen their readiness to act in international teams. The programme combines non-formal education, workshop-based work, and integration elements so participants can translate knowledge into concrete social initiatives.
Process
As part of the project, we planned two main activities: a preparatory visit for partner organisations and the youth exchange itself. The preparatory phase is used to refine logistics, safety, working methods, and participant support, including for those with fewer opportunities. A key element is also jointly agreeing on partner cooperation rules and the monitoring and communication tools.
The core of the project is an exchange programme based on workshops, simulations, and practical tasks. Participants work on planning and coordinating activities, team communication, and using digital tools in project management. The programme is complemented by integration and intercultural activities that support cooperation between groups from different countries.
As the project is still ongoing, at this stage we are focusing on continuing follow-up activities: structured evaluation, documenting learning outcomes (Youthpass), dissemination activities in schools and local communities, and preparing summary materials that will serve as a basis for further international initiatives.

Impact
What changed thanks to the project
The intended result of the project is to strengthen young people’s agency in leadership, teamwork, and responsible project management. Participants are expected to develop the ability to plan activities, make decisions, solve problems, and work in a multicultural environment using digital tools.
More broadly, the project aims to build a lasting network of cooperation between partner organisations and participants, and to strengthen local youth environments through dissemination activities. It is crucial that the competences gained during the exchange continue to be used after the project ends: in new social, educational, and international initiatives.
