About the project

We are implementing the Erasmus+ KA154-YOU project “Youth Civic Forum 2.0 – Democracy in the Digital Era” as a one-year programme to strengthen young people’s civic participation. The project’s main task is to create a space where young people develop civic and digital competences, learn critical thinking, and gain tools to have a real impact on their local, regional, and national environment.

Process

As part of the project, a coherent cycle of 11 educational and participatory activities must be delivered: thematic debates, skills workshops, a civic hackathon, and a final debate with the participation of young people, experts, and decision-makers. The programme combines events with mobility and without mobility, which makes it possible to reach different groups of young people and ensure broad accessibility of activities.

The substantive scope includes primarily: democracy in the digital era, countering disinformation, information security, e-participation, argumentation, and designing social campaigns. A key element of the project is also the online platform “Young People for Democracy”, intended to support knowledge exchange, the publication of educational materials, and participants’ continued activity.

On the organisational side, the project requires ongoing progress monitoring, regular evaluation, documenting learning outcomes, cooperation with local institutions, and dissemination activities. The final stage is to summarise the results and prepare recommendations on further strengthening youth participation in public life.

Impact

What changed thanks to the project

The intended result of the project is a clear increase in young people’s readiness to take part in civic and decision-making processes. Participants are to develop the ability to critically analyse information, use digital tools consciously, conduct social dialogue, and plan their own initiatives for the community.

In the long term, the project is to leave lasting tools and cooperation mechanisms: a network of contacts between young people and local partners, educational materials available online, and developed formats for debates and participatory activities that can be continued after the funding ends.
