About the project

On 15 May 2026, the Rybnik campus hosted Rybenalia—an outdoor event organised together with the academic community, local partners and volunteers. The event attracted 2,150 participants.

The programme combined the symbolic handover of the city keys and a parade from Rybnik City Hall with sports and integration activities, a food zone and six music performances.

Process

Rybenalia began with a visit to Rybnik City Hall and the symbolic handover of the city keys. Students, young residents, SWT members and volunteers, representatives of the Rybnik University of the Third Age, a miners’ orchestra and students from a local uniformed-services school then marched to the campus.

At the venue, universities and partners ran a field game, volleyball, badminton, basketball and integration activities. The stage featured Pawełek, Metrowy, DJ Lea, Siles, Sitek and Malik Montana. Because of the weather, the planned silent disco was replaced by an afterparty at NOC club.

What changed thanks to the project

The event brought together 2,150 participants, 15 volunteers and representatives of five universities. It delivered six music performances, eight food points and cooperation with six sponsors and partners.

The campaign reached approximately 1,264,800 people across Facebook and Instagram. The post-event survey received 229 responses, with an average score of 4.17/5; 81% of respondents rated Rybenalia 4 or 5.
